WE ARE CREATORS

At The Local Social, we believe that community, creativity, and collaboration can fuel meaningful change. Our mission is simple: to empower local content creators and businesses by leveraging the power of influence and attention. We are a network built by creatives, for creatives—uniting local businesses with trusted influencers and artists who speak directly to their communities.

We are a network of creatives that your audience knows, likes, and trusts.

The Local Social was founded by two New Yorkers who have experienced the challenges of economic crises and the rise of social media as a powerful vehicle for change.

Troy Mills, our Founder and CEO, was forced to make a bold decision to leave his job with the city’s hospital police during the pandemic crisis—choosing his health over job security. His background in film opened his eyes to the potential of content creation in the digital age, and how "microwave TV"—small, impactful content—was reshaping media. After studying the market and doing thorough market analysis Troy discovered a huge underserved market, the creator economy.

Kamylle Edwards, our Co-Founder and CTO, came from a background in social media production for REVOLT TV. She saw firsthand how creators were being taken advantage of by networks, with little to no stake in the value their content generated. Frustrated by the system, Kamylle set out to create a platform that empowered creators and gave them ownership of their work.

Together, Troy and Kamylle envisioned a solution—one that re-engaged local economies by amplifying voices of trusted local creators, helping businesses share authentic, community-driven content.

Empowering Local Creators

Local content creators face significant hurdles in today’s digital landscape: discoverability, censorship, lack of data ownership, and limited resources to produce quality content at scale. At The Local Social, we address these challenges by handling everything from talent discovery to content production and deal structuring.

Meet Diandra Forrest, for example—one of our clients who came to us overwhelmed by the process of content creation. Through our partnership, we developed a series called Style That Built The Haus, which increases Diandra’s brand visibility and helps her secure a brand deals. Through this collaboration, Diandra can not only connect with her audience but also start earning revenue through YouTube ads and data-driven campaigns.

By streamlining the business side of content creation, we give creators the time and tools they need to focus on what they do best: creating.

Revitalizing Local Businesses

As native New Yorkers from the Bronx, we understand the challenges local businesses face. Many are struggling to survive in an economy increasingly dominated by large corporations. These big-box brands weaken local economies, focusing on convenience and variety at the cost of community values.

Our local businesses are often neglected, with boomers passing down their businesses or selling out to bigger companies. The result? Local businesses lose their individuality, and their communities lose their connections. That’s where we come in.

The Local Social bridges the gap. We connect businesses to the millennial generation—creatives who know how to speak to their audience through the content they love. By showcasing local service experiences and collaborating with creators, we bring the internet to real life in an authentic and engaging way.

We’re not just marketing—we’re creating real, lasting connections between local businesses and the community.

Fostering Collaboration & Building Relationships

The Local Social network thrives on collaboration. Creators and businesses ideate together, working closely with our team to produce and promote content that benefits everyone. Our creators don’t just work for businesses; they work with them—cross-promoting and elevating both brands simultaneously.

As part of our network, creators gain exclusive perks: discounts, special menus, and the opportunity to be hosted by businesses within our community. These ongoing collaborations help build long-term, personal relationships between business owners and creators, fostering a sense of mutual trust and respect.

One of our standout success stories is the collaboration between Diandra Forrest and local businesses. This partnership resulted in increased visibility for both Diandra and local businesses, proving that when businesses and creators work together, everyone wins.

Decentralization is at the heart of our mission because it enables us to create a truly global network with local impact. With blockchain technology, we can connect creatives from anywhere in the world, ensuring that they can participate in the economy while maintaining control over their data and digital identities.

Our upcoming decentralized application (dApp) will be the first marketplace where users can create content and earn an equitable living—simply by engaging in the network through their smartphones. Imagine being able to earn money whenever and wherever you choose, simply by sharing your work and capturing your data. And the best part? You’ll own your data, putting you in full control of your creative journey.

The dApp isn’t just a marketplace—it’s a revolution in how content is created, shared, and valued. And we’re here to ensure that everyone, regardless of location or background, has the opportunity to succeed.
